Goodbye, George Romero

George A. Romero passed away July 16, 2017 from lung cancer at the age of 77.

For those of you unaware, Romero invented the modern zombie with Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead. Before Romero, zombies were haitian folklore of drug-induced slaves. Romero created the concept of the flesh-eating ghouls of fear.

We at The Nerdd would like to take a moment of appreciation for all that George Romero has done for american cinema, the horror genre, disaster preparation, and one of the greatest monsters of all time.

Thank you George A. Romero. We will miss you.
