San Diego Comic Con 2017

San Diego International Comic-Con just happened, and unfortunately no one from The Nerdd was able to attend, but this is what we were able to learn watching it all from online, wishing we could be there.

The Walking Dead

Not only did The Walking Dead Season 8 trailer drop, along with a new release date of October 22, we also got a little tribute to the recently passed George A. Romero.

When asked about George A. Romero, the legendary zombie movie director who died on July 16, Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman said: “My first experience watching Night of the Living Dead was on network television in the ’90s… Just to go on that ride for the first time and see what a zombie story could be was amazing. I was instantly in love with the genre and the man, and I couldn’t be more upset about that loss.” —IMDb

Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones got a new trailer for their upcoming season 7!

Need a recap of the first six seasons?

Marvel unveiled so much at Comic Con this year, and we are going to take a look at it all chronologically!

The Defenders comes out Aug 18, and not only did we get a really cool poster for it…

…but confirmation that Sigourney Weaver will be the villain of the show, which is interesting, seeing as how Madame Gao was becoming a secondary through line between Daredevil and Iron Fist. Speaking of which, Iron Fist season 2 also got confirmed as being in the works with no release date set yet. We also know now that at some point, Colleen Wing (from Iron Fist) and Misty Knight (from Luke Cage) will team up!

Stan Lee also was in a commercial for The Defenders in this amazing video!

On Sept 29 we will get the Inhumans on ABC, and we have already gotten our second trailer! There will also be an opportunity to see the first episode in IMAX theaters across the country on Sept 1.

The next movie coming out is Thor: Ragnarok, of which we not only got a new trailer, but a new poster as well!

Hulu will release its first Marvel show, The Runaways Nov 21 of which we have no information on yet, besides it will have a 10 episode run.

On May 4, 2018 we will get the culmination of the entire MCU up to this point with Avengers: Infinity War. We didn’t get a new trailer, but there is still this amazing video from a few months ago. What we did get, however, were two cool posters. After the events of Civil War, we still have Iron Man and Captain America on separate posters, but will this new fight bring them all together?

After the years-long build up of the MCU, we will see AntMan and the Wasp on July 6 2018, and here is some super cool concept art for that!

The last bit of MCU news is about Captain Marvel, which doesn’t come out until March 8, 2019. Because it is so far away, we don’t have much yet, but what we do have is the knowledge that it will be set in the ’90s, as well as Sam Jackson’s Nick Fury will definitely be in it.

Fox’s Marvel properties had some news as well.

During the panel for Legion, director Noah Hawley was quoted saying he was working with Fox on another character.  “I’ll just say two words. The first word is ‘Doctor,’ and the next one is ‘Doom.’” Does this mean Doctor Doom will have his own show as well? Or is Hawley going to move up to make a movie? We know how well that has worked so far.

On October 2 we are supposed to get another show, related to Legion and the greater X-Men films called The Gifted. Here is the current trailer for that.

Stan Lee

Lastly, IMDb presented its first ever Starmeter Lifetime Achievement Award to Stan Lee.

This November 17 we will see Justice League, and there is a new trailer for that as well! Did you catch the Green Lantern drop?

The next DCEU to begin filming is Shazam!. The only other news is how Dwayne Johnson will still be Black Adam in his own film, but not be in Shazam! at all. Meaning the first Shazam! movie won’t have his main villain. Much like how Luthor didn’t appear in Man of Steel, but he did in Batman v. Superman.

Wonder Woman 2 has officially been announced to begin pre-production. We have a while before we even start to hear about castings, but just to know that its happening is pretty awesome!

The announced Flash movie has a name Flashpoint, named after one of the most famous story lines in DC comics.

On October 9, we get Season 3 of Supergirl.

On October 10, we get Season 4 of The Flash, as well as Season 3 of Legends of Tomorrow
