D23 was a few weeks ago, and now that the dust has settled, here are some of the major points of what happened!
Disney Animation
Ralph Breaks the Internet
From the little we know, Ralph and Venelope von Schweetz find a way to go to the internet, and not only discover all the wonders there, but find Disney.com and meet the Princesses, Storm Troopers, The Avengers and more. This could either be a hilarious destruction of the 4th wall, or just a sad attempt to sell more merchandise. Set to come out November 21, 2018.

The Lion King
Jon Favreau, director of Elf, Iron Man, and the live action The Jungle Book is taking on a live action The Lion King, set to release July 19, 2019. So far the set cast includes James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa, as well as Donald Glover for Simba, Billy Eichner and Seth Rogan as Timon and Pumbaa, and John Oliver as Zazu.
Last but not least is how Beyoncé is in final discussion over playing Nala in the film.
We are excited to confirm that director Jon Favreau is getting his wish! Beyonce is currently in final negotiations to play Nala in Disney’s upcoming live action reboot of Lion King! Disney has reportedly agreed to pay a whopping $25 million to secure Beyonces involvement with the project. We can exclusively report from a source that one major clause in Beyonce’s contract is to be the curator & producer of the soundtrack which will include several new and original African inspired & tribal recordings by the singer, as well as classic Lion King favorites. A full promotional push including interviews, music videos, and a release to all physical retailers and streaming platforms is expected. The soundtrack will be released worldwide through Parkwood Entertainment & Columbia Records (SONY).
Pixar
Incredibles 2
On June 15, 2018 we will see the return of the super-powered family The Incredibles. Apparently the film is set to pick up right where the original left off, with the Underminer attacking right after Dash’s track meet. The basic story idea is that Mr. Incredible is stuck at home watching Jack Jack, while Mrs. Incredible is out saving the world, a flip on the original film. Hopefully this time there aren’t secrets being kept from each other.

Coco
November 22 of this year will see Pixar’s first film focusing on the Latino culture. “Coco follows a 12-year-old boy named Miguel who sets off a chain of events relating to a century-old mystery, leading to an extraordinary family reunion.” Not sure where this will fit into the “Pixar Theory” but I’m excited to see a story about a culture and what they believe in being represented by such a phenomenal group of story tellers that make up Pixar.

Marvel
Marvel took this chance right before San Diego Comic-Con to release some new footage and show the cast for the Mega-Film Avengers: Infinity War.
Sources from Comicbook.com were able to attend and describe the new (spoiler-free) footage.
“Avengers tower comes into frame. Clips from The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Thor, Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 2, and Iron Man 3 play. ‘We are arriving,’ Mantis said to the Guardians.
