Happy 6th Birthday to The Nerdd!

Six years ago today, I wrote my first article for this site.

As of this writing, there are 534 articles published this site, many by me, but many by wonderful friends that have joined me on my journey, added their wonderful thoughts, and moved on to their own projects and lives.

We have had over 218,000 people visit the site, for a total of over 283,800 page views.

Our most popular day, three years in a row, is May the Fourth Be With You, Star Wars Day!

Our most popular article is still 11 Steps for Building a Homebrew World for D&D, and 9 of the top 10 articles are all Dungeons & Dragons related (the other is about Star Wars), and the most popular article written this year is What Are My D&D Stats? It seems that this website has really become a D&D site lately, and while I’ll continue to write about MCU and conventions, I obviously love D&D so I’ll keep bringing my thoughts to the site.

Without going into too many details, the past year has been rough for The Nerdd, for a litany of personal issues I haven’t been writing as diligently as I used to. I haven’t stopped, but two 1,000+ word articles per week has not been manageable. The good news is, I believe that this upcoming summer The Nerdd will be able to return to my focus, and I’ll be comfortable to start looking at conventions again. In early 2020 I had no idea that I would be uncomfortable going to a Con floor for three full years, but really none of us knew what the future was going to hold.

If you still read diligently, I appreciate your patience as I get my ducks in a row. I believe that this time next year, The Nerdd will be back on track, and we’ll be able to return to be a multimedia content center, not just writing articles, but going back into the audio/video realms once more.

If anything, I am grateful to be confident that The Nerdd is surviving through this inconsistency, and that I see myself working on this website for years to come.
