From Dungeons & Dragons to Bears vs. Babies, there are so many tabletop games to play that can bring together a group of friends. Of course as adults, sometimes we need an excuse to actually bring everyone together, because you have to schedule fun times and adulting is hard.
Who else will create that excuse than famous tabletop gamer Wil Wheaton?
Wil Wheaton of Star Trek fame, has created his own company with Felicia Day, called Geek and Sundry. With famous articles such as “HOW TO WRITE THE BEST D&D ADVENTURES EVER” to the best D&D Twitch Stream of all, Critical Role (Seasons 1 & 2), this online entity loves tabletop gaming more than anyone.
That picture above by the way? That’s from Wil’s show Tabletop, where every episode, he would bring in new celebrities to play a new game. One of my favorites is Munchkin, with the creator himself, Steve Jackson.
Now that you know that Wil Wheaton is the real deal, what exactly is International Tabletop Day?
International Tabletop Day (ITTD), is a worldwide celebration of tabletop gaming for all members of our incredible community. In its seventh year, the day-long event is filled with gaming events, charity fundraising, and collaborative online entertainment. We at Geek & Sundry always want to find more folks to play games, and we encourage you to join the celebration with us on Saturday, April 28, 2018, hosted by Ivan Van Norman! –GeekAndSundry.com
On the Geek and Sundry Twitch Channel, there will be five game events hosted throughout the day!
We here at The Nerdd are huge fans of tabletop gaming, as we have had articles about the starting D&D, the tabletop renaissance, more complex board games, and even how to create your own Tabletop RPG.
So this weekend, find some friends, and go play some games with some people! Don’t know where to go? Find your local comic shop! They are probably playing something! Maybe go on the official ITTD website, or even try out the app GameFor, made specifically for helping you find local games to join! If you really can’t find anyone, join Geek and Sundry on Twitch, or watch old episodes of Tabletop with Wil Wheaton.
