Happy New Year! We have made it to 2018! What kind of stuff can we expect from this year? Lets start off with some awesome movies!
We are getting some great Marvel movies! Black Panther, Infinity War, Ant-Man, New Mutants, Deadpool 2, Dark Phoenix, and Venom! Aquaman is the only DCEU film coming out, but Jason Mamoa brought Aquaman from the butt of the DC jokes, so I’m excited to see where it goes. Pixar is even bringing their superhero family back with The Incredibles 2. We get four movies about/based on videogames with Tomb Raider, Rampage, Ready Player One, and Ralph Breaks the Internet. A new Star Wars Anthology with Solo, and the next installment in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Pacific Rim 2, Jurassic World 2, The Purge 4, Mission Impossible 6, and a couple reboots with a new Predator, Mary Poppins, and Oceans 8.
We are getting some awesome shows returning on the CW like Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Riverdale, and Supernatural, with the new interesting Black Lightning joining the lineup. There is also a new Superman prequel show called Krypton coming out on Syfy. Netflix is giving us Jessica Jones season 2, and more Marvel is coming back with Legion, but The Gifted is still churning through season 1 as we speak, as is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5. We have Star Trek: Discovery, The X-Files, Stargate: Origins, bringing back some great Sci-Fi. Get your fantasy fix with Once Upon a Time, The Magicians, and maybe Game of Thrones season 8, though that might be pushed back to 2019 unfortunately.
In the first half of the year show the return of some great videogame franchises with Metal Gear Survive and Far Cry 5. Who knows how many games are right around the corner that we don’t know will be great though?
Maybe there are some conventions that are coming near you this year! You can rock out your new cosplay, get some cool merch or art, and maybe make friends or meet celebrities!
We get to sit back and watch how the whole Disney-Fox merger is gonna shake out. I bet that by December, we will know when Mutants will be fighting against or alongside the New Avengers!
