It’s that time again, let’s look at what movies are coming out this season. We’ve got two Marvels, a DC, a Pixar, and some other fun looking movies. Not every weekend has something, however, as there has been a few delays lately again, probably due to the instability of Europe at the moment.
March 25
The Lost City

A reclusive romance novelist on a book tour with her cover model gets swept up in a kidnapping attempt that lands them both in a cutthroat jungle adventure.
A fun little comedy. If I see it, it would be for Brad Pitt only, but that might be enough.
April 1
Morbius

Biochemist Michael Morbius tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease, but he inadvertently infects himself with a form of vampirism instead.
This movie is either going to be really good or really bad. Jared Leto has had some…questionable performances as of late. However, his unique style might really fit in a movie about a vampire doctor.
April 8
Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Sequel to the 2020 live-action feature film ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’.
I can’t see this film without thinking about the terrible animation style that the first Sonic movie was about to use.
April 15
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore

The third installment of the ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ series which follows the adventures of Newt Scamander.
I love the Harry Potter franchise. It was a foundational part of my childhood, and a lot of what led me to be a Nerdd in the first place. However, while I usually stay away from politics on this website, I want to say #TransRightsAreHumanRights #NoEthicalConsumption.
April 22
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

A cash-strapped Nicolas Cage agrees to make a paid appearance at a billionaire super fan’s birthday party, but is really an informant for the CIA since the billionaire fan is a drug kingpin and gets cast in a Tarantino movie.
Nic Cage goes full Nic Cage in a movie about being Nic Cage. This feels like that one Andy Samberg SNL Weekend Update bit.
April 29
I guess there is a Liam Neeson is an Assassin movie, but I’m not going to the theater this weekend.
May 6
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Dr. Stephen Strange casts a forbidden spell that opens the door to the multiverse, including an alternate version of himself, whose threat to humanity is too great for the combined forces of Strange, Wong, and Wanda Maximoff.
The latest MCU film. If you think people have fan theories and predictions about WandaVision, Spider-Man: No Way Home, the end of Loki, or the Canon status of What If…? this is the theoretical culmination of all of those. So get ready for Mephisto to be played by Toby Maguire, working with the X-Men, fighting against Kang, and named Ralph Bohner. Or something.
May 13
Firestarter

A young girl tries to understand how she mysteriously gained the power to set things on fire with her mind.
Little kid has superpowers! Feels very reminiscent of Brightburn.
Edit: Thanks to Jason Nielsen for pointing out that this is a remake of a 1984 movie of the same name, which starred Drew Barrymore. “A couple who participated in a potent medical experiment gain telepathic ability and then have a child who is pyrokinetic.“
May 20
DC League of Super-Pets

Krypto the Super-Dog and Superman are inseparable best friends, sharing the same superpowers and fighting crime side by side in Metropolis. However, Krypto must master his own powers for a rescue mission when Superman is kidnapped.
They want another shot at The Lego Batman Movie, but you can’t beat perfection.
May 27
Top Gun: Maverick

After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete Mitchell is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him.
All the GenXers are about to lose their minds.
The Bob’s Burgers Movie

The Belchers’ trying to save the restaurant from closing as a sinkhole forms in front of it while the kids try to solve a mystery that could save their family’s restaurant.
All the Zoomers are about to lose their minds.
June 3
Seriously, IMDb does not have a single movie listed for release for this weekend. Luckily, The Boys season 3 starts this weekend instead.
June 10
Jurassic World Dominion

Plot kept under wraps.
The third installment of Jurassic World ordinarily wouldn’t interest me, but the fact that the cast from Jurassic Park is returning definitely does. Does this mean I need to go back and watch Fallen Kingdom?
June 17
Lightyear

The story of Buzz Lightyear and his adventures to infinity and beyond.
Pixar + Chris Evans + In-Universe Media = I’m super down. This is the movie that Andy watched that makes him want the Buzz Lightyear action figure in the first Toy Story movie. I am so down. Let’s see what movies people make about Superman within the DC Universe. Shows that Poe Dameron watches at a bar in Coruscant. MORE IN-UNIVERSE MEDIA.
I thought this movie poster looked familiar. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0087262/mediaviewer/rm3628965120
This is a remake of a 1984 film. A young Drew Berrymore was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor.
