May 5 – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

What better way to start the season than with the first of this year’s three Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. “Set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage.”
May 12- King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

“Robbed of his birthright, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy – whether he likes it or not.”
May 19- Alien: Covenant

Set after the film Prometheus, but before the original Alien movie. “The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.”
May 26: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales / Baywatch

“Captain Jack Sparrow searches for the trident of Poseidon.” We see the return of Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, and Orlando Bloom

Zac Efron never wants to hear the name “Troy Bolton” again. “Devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchanan butts heads with a brash new recruit. Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.”
June 2- Wonder Woman / Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie

Lets see if Wonder Woman is able to get the DCEU the respect we all want to give it. “Before she was Wonder Woman she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained warrior. When a pilot crashes and tells of conflict in the outside world, she leaves home to fight a war to end all wars, discovering her full powers and true destiny.”

He’s a super hero, it counts. “Two overly imaginative pranksters named George and Harold, hypnotize their principal into thinking he’s a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dimwitted superhero named Captain Underpants.”
June 9- The Mummy

This is yet another, different, Mummy, with Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe. “An ancient princess is awakened from her crypt beneath the desert, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia, and terrors that defy human comprehension.”
June 16- Cars 3

“Lightning McQueen sets out to prove to a new generation of racers that he’s still the best race car in the world.”
June 23- Transformers: The Last Knight

Lets see if Michael Bay can make Mark Wahlberg make some money again. He needs it after Patriots Day. “Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth.”
June 30- Despicable Me 3

I would just catch up on other movies you missed this week. Unless you have kids that love the minions still. “Gru meets his twin brother Dru he never knew about.”
July 7- Spider-Man: Homecoming

Starting off July right, with the MCU film 2/3 for 2017. “Following the events of Captain America: Civil War, Peter Parker attempts to balance his life in high school with his career as the web-slinging superhero Spider-Man.”
July 14- War for the Planet of the Apes

The third installment from James Franco’s restart of the classic film. “After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind.”
July 21- Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets / Dunkirk

Based off the book. “A dark force threatens Alpha, a vast metropolis and home to species from a thousand planets. Special operatives Valerian and Laureline must race to identify the marauding menace and safeguard not just Alpha, but the future of the universe.”

Christopher Nolan creates another film, with much of the same team as the Dark Knight films, Inception, and Interstellar. “Allied soldiers from Belgium, the British Empire, Canada, and France are surrounded by the German army and evacuated during a fierce battle in World War II.”
July 28- The Dark Tower

Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba star in this sci-fi that ends the summer. “The Gunslinger, Roland Deschain, roams an Old West-like landscape where ‘the world has moved on’ in pursuit of the man in black. Also searching for the fabled Dark Tower, in the hopes that reaching it will preserve his dying world.”
